LiliF® APEC PCR Kit

LiliF® APEC PCR Kit

Background Information

Escherichia coli is a non-pathogenic Escherichia coli that is commonly found in the intestines of warm-blooded animals and, in most cases, does not cause pathogenicity to humans and animals due to its inherent properties. However, pathogenic Escherichia coli is of veterinary and public health importance. Pathogenic colicosis in poultry is known to cause death due to acute sepsis or subacute to pericarditis and airsacculitis. This is a respiratory infectious disease that is distinguished from infectious diseases caused by toxins of pathogenic Escherichia coli that have settled in the intestines in pigs and humans, leading to systemic diseases. Unlike mammals, the anatomical structure of the poultry is weak in respiratory infections caused by overcrowding because the tissue area for gas exchange is about 60% thinner. However, in poultry, pathogenic Escherichia coli is more proliferated in the upper respiratory tract than in the digestive tract Then, the pneumocystis is found only in poultry, and it infects the lungs which are weak to infection. Then it enters into the blood and fixes on internal organs such as heart, spleen and liver. The condition of poultry colicosis is completely different from pig colitis. Poultry colicosis is very common worldwide, and the morbidity rate is usually as high as 50%, resulting in low growth, leading to economic losses. The mortality rate is usually 5%, but sometimes it is about 20%, and it is known that it often infects several viral infections, including infectious organisms, and mycoplasma infections, and causes more serious damage. In Korea, Has been noted since the poultry industry has developed, and the frequency and severity of its occurrence has increased in recent years. Chicken colibacillosis is an infection of the avian pathogenic Escherichia (E. coli) (APEC), which is responsible for airsacculitis, perihepatitis, peritonitis, pericarditis, It is known to cause various diseases such as salpingitis, omphalitis, osteomyelitis, etc. It is known to cause the loss of growth and economic loss due to death. Molecular diagnostics is very important.

LiliF™ APEC PCR Kit is able to detect directly and specifically avian pathogenic Escherichia by CLP™ technology and Maxime ™ technology on the basis of a genetic database of target nucleic acid fragments. Therefore, this kit can diagnose very sensitive, fast and accurately. The kit contains a specific primer set for a highly conserved region based on current sequence alignments of avian pathogenic Escherichia, allowing the DNA detection. It can determine the infecting all serotype and accurately and sensitivity detect multiple detection genes at one time using the conventional PCR method, and take only 2 hours for detection. Fast and sensitive detection of pathogen enables patients to get appropriate treatment and prevent the rapid spreading of disease by separating patients immediately.

Principle

• This product is a qualitative PCR testing product with CLP™ technology which provided flexibility in Tm (melting temperature) of primer design for optimization of reaction condition, and maximizes PCR specificity and sensitivity through the control of non-specific priming.

• The assay is a conventional PCR that discriminates avian pathogenic Escherichia in one reaction. The assay is composed of two principal steps: (1) nucleic acid extraction from specimens, and (2) amplification of the target extracted nucleic acid fragment using specific primers pair.

Intended Use

• For Research Use Only, Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

• This kit is developed, designed, and sold for research purpose only. It is not intended to be used for human or animal diagnosis of diseases. Prior to using it for other purposes, the user must validate the system in compliance with the applicable law, directives, and regulations.

• This product is research reagent of infectious disease for professional use to restrict the public use for animal diseases.
